kara decided after visiting my parents in south carolina that she wanted to completely revamp the backyard. most people take on one major project per summer or per year but not us. we started with cutting down and digging up roots of over 10 very large plants/trees. (most covered with sharp objects) we then built a small garden containing three new plants, bark mulch and stone work. oh and i forgot to mention - we started staining the massive deck as well. unfortunately the consistent summer rain has stopped most of the work and also our desire to do other things on our only two days off per week has made an impact. however, this project will continue and the yard will look great someday. i promise you kara.
